Bill has a degree in Composition from the University of Victoria (with distinction) and studied Jazz Piano and Arranging at Berklee College in Boston. In Victoria his teachers included Murray Adaskin, Martin Bartlett and Rudolph Komorous. In Boston his teachers included Ray Santisi and Herb Pomeroy.

Bill accepts a limited number of private, master students in piano and songwriting.

Bill no longer teaches Composition and Jazz Piano at Vancouver Community College’s School of Music.
